Motorcycle speedway was originated in 1923 in Maitland, Australia. Motorcycle speedway in Denmark refers to a motorcycle race that occurs on an oval track, which has loose mud on it. The race occurs for more than 4 anticlockwise laps. As the motorcycles are not allowed to have any brakes the rider uses the surface for powersliding and broadsliding along the bends.
