The Danish National Speedway team is one of the biggest and best international speedway teams in the world. The team is managed by Jan Stæchmann who was a former rider; they are currently captained by Hans Andersen of Peterborough Panthers'. The team has taken hold of the Speedway World Team Cup 13 times, which is a record by itself.

In the Danish Speedway Grand Prix, 16 riders compete, 15 out of which are regulars, remaining one is a nomination by wild card in all 11 rounds. The number the riders wear in every meeting must be the same. An example of this would be Tomasz Gollob the World Champion of 2010 is Number 1 with wild card number 16.
