In 1986-87, Tom Kristensen was runner up in European and world Karting championship and took taste of Formula Ford Car Racing Championship for the first time. Due to his good connections with famous Japanese car manufacturer Toyoto, he got opportunity to drive best of the motorcars of this reputed company. He had best time with all the six test-drives and finally got chance to compete in 2 German Opel/Lotus-championship events. In early 1990s, he raced concurrently in championships like Touring cars and Formula 3. He was runner-up in Japanese touring car championship (JTCC) for two alternative years 1992 and 1994. In 1993, Tom Kristensen had conquered Japanese Formula 3 and won German Formula Champion couple of times. Tom secured sixth position in Formula 3000 in 1996 and 1997, which fetched him an offer from team Tyrell to drive for their final season of Formula One in 1998. He ranked third in STW Cup which was conducted in Germany in year 1999. Kristensen was a winner of 12 hour Sebring race and held 7th position in British Touring Car Championship in 2000. In the year 2007, Tom was encountered with an accident in Hockenheimring race course in Germany. This crash has resulted in long gap in his motorsports carrier. However, after few months he recuperated very well and participated in Le Mans race conducted in the year 2007. During his sports career, Tom has encountered several car crashes and personal injuries, but every time he rose out of failures vary hard and drove next race with full exuberance.
