ASSEN - A week after MotoGP the HTC Dutch GT4 Championship visited TT Circuit Assen for its fourth race weekend.

In the upperclass of Dutch racing Duncan Huisman (BMW M3 GT4), Jeroen Bleekemolen (Corvette C6), Henry Zumbrink and Danny van Dongen (Corvette C6) celebrated their victories during the "Formido 100%NL Midzomerraces".

Race one:

Duncan Huisman began his weekend with victory. The pit crew of the former FIA WTCC driver was quickest as the rain started to drop during the formation lap. Huisman, who entered the pitlane in fifth place, took the lead after his crew changed the slicks for wet tires. In the remainder of the race Huisman consolidated the leading position.

Huisman: "The circumstances were extremely difficult. Even with fifty percent throttle I had oversteer. I could take the win quite easily because I had no spray in front of me and focused on driving my own race. There was only one moment when my position was threatened as Simon Knap tried to overtake me, but I defended quite well. With heavy rainfall like this, it was almost impossible for him to overtake. It probably wasn't a very exciting race, but this win brings me back in business for the championship."

Race two:

The second sprint race was an easy win for Jeroen Bleekemolen. Bleekemolen and his teammate Henry Zumbrink kept their Corvettes C6 outside the incidents in the opening stages. Zumbrink didn't threaten his teammate for the win. The Porsche drivers couldn't close the gap to the leading Corvettes despite promising lap times in the first half of the race. Zumbrink's car was leaking oil and this made it more difficult for the Porsches to come closer.

Bleekemolen: "I could concentrate on driving my own race and be gentle with the tires, there was no need to push, I just had to bring the car to the finish. After the incidents in the first lap, I could make a small gap. It was an easy race."

Race three:

Starting from pole position, equipe Henry Zumbrink / Danny van Dongen made a slow start and lost three places. But the pace of the Corvette was impressive and Zumbrink retook the lead within four laps. His teammate Danny van Dongen kept first place after the mandatory pit stop and finished the race 5,012 seconds in front of equipe Peter van der Kolk / Jeroen Bleekemolen.

Van Dongen: "Finally we have success in the feature race. We had a lot of bad luck in the past during the feature race, so it's great to win together with Henry. There was a small problem with oil leakage, which made me a bit nervous. But I'm happy to go home with the victory."

Zumbrink: "TT Circuit Assen suited our Corvette perfectly. At the long straights the engine kept pulling. I really like this track."

The next rounds in the HTC Dutch GT4 Championship are at August 28th and 29th at the Nürburgring (D).
