The racing series period is from April to October every year and also holds a Special Saloon Car Festival. The yearly Special Saloon Car Series race event calendar is mentioned below - 22nd – 23rd April, race circuit at the FDM Jyllandsringen 28th -29th May held at Padborg Park circuit 18th -19th June at Ring Djursland, it is at this time and venue that they have the Special Saloon Car Festival 26th -28th August venue at FDM Jyllandsringen 10th -11th September at the Ring Djursland race venue 8th -9th October at Padborg Parks The race series is open to all with the criteria that the car should be a saloon car and the driver should be a minimum 21 years of age with a valid competition license from the DMU. Even though the competitors may seem friendly and helpful the race competition is really fierce. This is a class of racing that happens on the weekends, so that professional as well as non professional drivers can participate in the race. The races are classified as - SS2 Class: Saloon cars ranging 0-3400cc SS3 Class: Saloon cars ranging 0-3400ccm/forced induction/3401-6800ccm S-P Class: Special prototypes ranging 0-8500cc S-GT Class: GT cars ranging 0-8500cc The diverse classes in these races, allow the drivers of a particular car to compete with drivers with similar cars, giving them a chance to battle for the Champion’s title. As seen from the classes mentioned above, the classification is made based on engine capacity and chassis type. The total weight of the car is not considered in the classification. Also, the race encourages and gives the drivers an opportunity to be eco-friendly even while racing by rewarding them with points within a certain restriction. |
